Before You Begin

  • Although other browsers can be used, online orientation is best viewed with Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome or Safari. Be sure your browser has all the latest software updates.
  • Although it is not required, we recommend using broadband, high-speed Internet access.
  • Be sure you have the most up-to-date Adobe Flash Player, and Java.
  • As mentioned, it's important to take notes.  -If you're familiar with Microsoft Word, use the 'Copy/Paste' feature to save text from the orientation slides to a Word document for later use.
  • At the bottom of each page, the ‘Click to Continue' and ‘Click to Return' arrows move you forward or back one page. Culinary Picture

Online orientation typically takes about 45 minutes to complete, but you don't have to finish in one session.  If you need to exit orientation before completion, just return later and continue where you left off.  Orientation will take you through a specific order of college preparation topics.

From time to time, short quizzes will appear. You'll need to correctly answer 80% of the questions for each quiz to move on to the next topic.  If you don't, you'll need to repeat the section to be sure you understand it, and then retake the quiz. Quizzes are untimed and ‘open book’ – so you may refer to any notes you’ve taken or saved.  As you pass each quiz, you will continue to the next topic.
